So what should we do with this Jag???
So the story here starts like they all do- something just fell
into my lap, so what to do with it? The “it” is a 1999 XK8 coupe in silver over
black interior, chrome wheels, and only 81k original miles. It lived a pampered
life with all of the attention it needed (upgraded timing chain stuff, new
design water pump, etc.,.) but the oil level dropped too low one day and the
engine
has a rod knock now. What a shame- except for that nasty noise under the hood
the car runs and drives beautifully and is easily the nicest XK8 of this vintage
that I’ve had in here.
Quite honestly, I wasn’t looking for another big
project right now- I really wanted to spend summer just driving Jags and doing a
few little tweaks here and there. Our 98 XK8 LS1 6-speed manual trans car is
running great and I just finished some upgrades/repairs on the XJSC
cabriolet-convertible (LT1 6-speed, also a manual trans car) and that one
deserves some drive time too.
Those are both great summer cars…….The XJ6C-LS1 car is a never ending saga of
“…..hey, that would be cool, why don’t I put that on this one too…..”; 8 years
and counting, ladies and gentleman- I'll be at that one for a while....
But how could I say no to such a nice XK8 coupe???
What do you think we should do with it???
Email me your thoughts……
